Beng Mealea is in the east of Angkor and it has been left in its natural state. It is overgrown with fig trees. The tree’s roots are entwined around the temple’s structure. Suriyavarman II founded this temple in the 12th century to be a model of Angkor Wat. It is located near the quarry, where they took the sandstones to build the temples in Angkor. A new study indicates that the temple was dedicated to Buddhism, because they found the Buddhisatwa in the complex. On the pediment and lintel, the story shows Indian episodes such as Ramayana and Churning of the sea of milk and Mahaparata. It can be heaven professional photographers.

Tonle Sap
Tonle sap is a biggest fresh water lake in South East Asia. It is the most important national treasure on the ground in Cambodia. The Tonle sap produces about 300 million tons of fish per year for Cambodians. In the lake, you can see 800,000 people living in the floating villages. Most people who live in the five provinces by the lake, eat more than 70kg of fish per year. In the rainy season, the water flows from the Mekong into this lake and the water brings a lot of fish with it. In the dry season the water flows back down to the Mekong river and the water brings white fish. There are only black fish in the lake with muddy water. People go fishing for two times a day and at night at 2am. From August to October, the people can’t fish to sell the fish because it is time for the fish to breed.

Cycling Tours
On this tour you can explore the rural area in the Siem Reap province. In the area, you can experience and learn about the daily life of Cambodian people in the present day. It has changed a lot since the French colonization from 1863 to 1953. People still live in houses on stilts. They do farming and fishing to make a living. They live in simple life with very few modern stresses. They always have smiling faces. And they don’t worry about world’s economic crisis. In this place, you can explore the villages and then, you will pause to make some pictures of the farms, houses, markets, monasteries, and people. This is good for people who feel a little ‘templed out’.
